What is a Blepharoplasty?

Our skin loses elasticity as we age, which can lead to drooping and saggy eyelids.

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a targeted surgical procedure that can treat these symptoms, and it’s available to residents of Amsterdam, NY at The Williams Center.

This procedure can erase persistent bags under your eyes, restoring and rejuvenating your skin and rebalancing the look of your face.

The result is a refreshed and less “tired” look that lasts for years to come.

Why Have Your Eyes Done at The Williams Center?

  • Dr. Edwin Williams is a leading expert in facial rejuvenation, delivering natural-looking results that are beyond comparison.
  • Dr. Williams’ advanced “Sliver Technique” uses only local anesthesia and is performed in-office for maximum convenience and rapid recovery.
  • The Williams Center is a destination practice for advanced procedures – and we’re right around the corner from Amsterdam, NY.

The Difference Between Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty

Eyelid surgery can vary substantially depending on whether the operation is for your upper eyelids, your lower eyelids, or both.

Upper Blepharoplasty targets sagging upper eyelids. The surgeon makes small incisions within the crease of your upper eyelid and removes excess tissue to lift and tighten.

Upper eyelid surgery may be deemed medically necessary if your eyelids are impairing your vision (contact your insurer for details and pre-approval). Upper eyelid surgery can often be performed with local anesthesia and has a relatively quick recovery time of 1-2 weeks.

Lower Blepharoplasty is a strictly cosmetic procedure that can transform the appearance of your face. Incisions are made inside your lower eyelid for the procedure, and anesthesia is often used. Recovery time is longer than 10-14 days.

Are You a Candidate for Eyelid Surgery?

Many individuals suffer from sagging, droopy skin around their eyes – leaving them with a permanently “tired” look even when they’re fully rested and feeling great.

Just take a look in the mirror, and see if you notice any of the following:

  • Puffy upper eyelids
  • Loose, saggy skin
  • Droopiness in your lower eyelids
  • Prominent bags under your eyes

Then you’re probably a candidate for blepharoplasty. Ideal candidates are healthy, non-smoking individuals without serious eye conditions.

It’s important to do your research on the procedure as well.

Review some of the many testimonials & before-and-after photos on our website – so that you’ll have a realistic idea of exactly what you can expect.

If you decide the procedure’s right for you, that leaves just one question…

What’s the Cost for Blepharoplasty in Amsterdam, NY?

The cost of your eyelid surgery is determined by whether you’re having upper blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty, or both.

Testimonials

“I AM SO GLAD I DID THIS PROCEDURE”
“Every morning when I looked at myself in the mirror, it looked as though I had absolutely no sleep at all. The bags under my eyes were horrible and have bothered me for more years than I can remember. Time after time I was hearing from others that I looked tired so I finally made a decision to take care of it. I scheduled an upper and lower blepharoplasty and what a difference it made. Now I feel better about my appearance and have not had any “you look tired” comments since. The procedure was quick and easy with just a short healing time. I am so glad I did this procedure and couldn’t be happier with the work of Dr. Williams and his staff at the Williams Center.”

Our commitment to exceptional care and personalized treatment has earned us the trust of many satisfied patients from Amsterdam and beyond.
