Question:
I am interested in getting a breast lift but wonder if the breasts will eventually sag again some time after surgery. About how long do the results of the breast lift last?
Answer:
The technique that we use for breast lift involving taking all of the breast tissue and shaping and sculpting it and also creating an internal bra with your own tissues that maintain the position of the breasts. If after a breast lift the patient maintains her weight and there is not a significant weight fluctuation, then the breasts should maintain their shape and position. The only thing that will affect the breasts is the natural aging process and gravity. The results of a breast lift can be very long lasting, 7-10 years, as long as again the patient maintains a normal weight and does not have huge fluctuations.
