Question:
How visible is the scarring after a breast lift?
Answer:
A breast lift can be done with various incisions. First, the incision can be placed around the areola only, or it could be a lollipop-shaped incision, or a lollipop with a short horizontal incision in the crease under the breasts. All of these incisions depend on how much breast tissue there is before the surgery, how much extra skin there is but typically these incision lines heal very nicely, especially with the precautions that we take with scar management. All of the sutures will be placed internally with dissolvable sutures. There will be no stitches on the outside and about two weeks after surgery scar management techniques such as massaging and silicone gel will be started in order to make the scar as nice as possible.
