Brazilian Butt Lift FAQs

  • How Much Does BBL Surgery Cost?

The cost of a BBL surgery ranges from $7,000 to $15,000.

The cost can vary depending on the location of the plastic surgery practice, expertise of the plastic surgeon, and desired changes.

  • Is BBL Surgery Safe?

In the hands of a board-certified plastic surgeon, BBL is a safe surgery to perform.

As BBLs are becoming more popular, non-board-certified surgeons are attempting to perform the procedure, leading to potentially dangerous results.

The reason why BBLs can be dangerous is if the fat is not injected into the correct layer or into the correct place, the fat can be injected into blood vessels. This can cause the fat to go directly to the heart and lungs.

Because of this, it’s essential to only utilize board-certified plastic surgeons who are highly specialized and experienced in the anatomy of Brazilian butt lift surgery.

  • What Are Examples of BBL Results?

One of the benefits of choosing a board-certified plastic surgeon is that their expertise yields natural-looking, astonishing results.

  • How Long Do Results Last?

The results of a BBL can change postoperatively because your body can reabsorb some of the fat. You may lose about 20-30% of the fat volume over time.

Your buttocks will change as you age. This is expected, regardless of weight fluctuation, exercise, and diet.

To extend the results of BBL surgery, it’s imperative to:

    • Follow the surgeon’s orders
    • Avoid a bad diet
    • Exercise regularly
    • Stop smoking cigarettes
  • When Can I Sit After BBL Surgery?

Most patients are advised to refrain from sitting, lying, or putting pressure on their buttocks for a period of two to four weeks after BBL surgery.

Patients can return to most of their normal activities (including sitting) approximately six weeks after surgery.

  • How Do I Sleep After BBL Surgery?

Sleeping on your stomach is the best way to sleep while recovering from BBL surgery.

But, it is possible to sleep on your back by using pillows propped against your lower back and thighs to take pressure off of the buttocks.

  • Am I a Good Candidate for BBL Surgery?

Good candidates for BBL surgery are those who:

    • Lead a healthy lifestyle
    • Don’t smoke tobacco
    • Want to reverse natural signs of aging such as sagginess
    • Can avoid sitting for roughly two months
    • Are looking for more rounded, shapely buttocks
    • Have extra fat elsewhere, such as the stomach, thighs, and hips
  • How Long Does It Take to Heal from BBL Surgery?

It can take approximately six weeks to recover from a BBL.

For about the first two weeks, you will need to avoid sitting and laying on your backside.

Most patients can resume light activity within seven days, but advanced exercises need to be avoided until six to eight weeks after surgery.

  • What Does ‘Board-Certified’ Mean for a Doctor?

    Not all surgeons are board-certified.

Surgeons who are board-certified are highly specialized in a specialty area or surgery type.

They are exceptionally committed to professionalism, quality patient care, and lifelong learning through a neutral, third-party entity that represents top-tier surgeons.

Board-certified surgeons prove their expertise through extensive specialty-specific training and passing rigorous testing.

All surgeons at The Williams Center are board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
